Founded in 1993, the Inland Empire Piano Festival is a non-profit event associated with the Music Teachers’ Association of California. The purpose of the festival is to encourage young musicians to perform in an atmosphere where musical experience is fostered and held as a standard. The competition is open to students ages 7-18 who reside in the Inland Empire. Each year features music composed during one of these periods: Classical, Romantic/Impressionistic or Contemporary.
The Sacred Music Piano Festival is a unique opportunity to stimulate young musicians (ages 7-18) to expand their classical repertoire to encompass works with sacred themes; thus to strive towards excellence through annual performance, to deepen appreciation for spiritual thoughts and to develop competencies needed for church music service and involvement.
